Stacy Savage

PROFESSIONAL BIO

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our practice. I understand that reaching out for counseling is rarely an easy decision. For many people, it comes after months or even years of carrying burdens that have become too heavy to carry alone. Whether you are struggling with trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, addiction, or simply feel stuck despite your best efforts, I want you to know that change is possible. Since 2002, I have had the privilege of helping individuals, couples, and families navigate some of life's most difficult challenges. As the owner of Solutions Counseling and Consulting, I have dedicated my career to working with people facing trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, addiction, relationship conflict, and other experiences that can leave people feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from themselves and those they love.

I am especially passionate about working with veterans, first responders, trauma survivors, and couples. I am often drawn to clients who feel like they have exhausted every option or believe they have been struggling for too long to change. Some of the most rewarding moments in my career have come from watching those same individuals discover strengths, resilience, and possibilities they never realized were still within them.

After more than two decades as a therapist, one belief has remained at the heart of my work. People are not broken. They are patterned. The brain learns. The nervous system adapts. Many of the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that create distress today were once adaptive responses to difficult experiences. What helped someone survive at one point in life may no longer serve them today. I believe understanding creates hope. When clients understand why they think, feel, and respond the way they do, they stop seeing themselves as broken and begin seeing themselves as capable of change. My role is to help clients understand those patterns, regulate their nervous system, process unresolved experiences, and develop healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and responding. My goal is not simply to help people feel better. It is to help them become stronger, more confident, and better equipped to navigate whatever life brings next.

My style is collaborative, practical, and results oriented. While feeling heard and understood is essential, insight alone rarely changes lives. Lasting growth comes from combining understanding with action. I enjoy helping clients connect the dots between their experiences, their brain, their nervous system, and the challenges they face today. When those connections become clear, clients often experience a profound shift in how they see themselves and what they believe is possible. My work integrates neuroscience, polyvagal-informed interventions, EMDR, and other evidence-based therapies to help clients regulate emotions, reduce the impact of trauma, strengthen relationships, overcome long-standing patterns, and create lasting change.

Trauma work has become one of my greatest professional passions. I specialize in EMDR therapy because I have seen firsthand the remarkable capacity people have to heal when unresolved experiences are processed rather than simply managed. Whether trauma stems from childhood, military service, first responder experiences, abuse, betrayal, or significant loss, healing is not about erasing the past. It is about reducing its influence so it no longer defines the present.

I also find tremendous meaning in working with couples. Relationships often reveal our deepest vulnerabilities, but they also offer extraordinary opportunities for healing, growth, and connection. Helping couples rebuild emotional safety, improve communication, resolve conflict, and strengthen their partnership continues to be one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

Above all, I believe every person has the capacity to grow. Therapy is not about becoming someone different. It is about removing the barriers that keep you from becoming the person you were always capable of being. It is a privilege to help people discover their own resilience, reclaim confidence, and build lives that reflect their values rather than their past.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

I believe therapy should be both compassionate and effective. My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care. I help clients understand not only what they are experiencing, but why they continue to feel stuck and, more importantly, what they can do to create meaningful, lasting change.

Treatment is individualized because no two people share the same story. I integrate EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), neuroscience, polyvagal-informed interventions, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients process trauma, regulate the nervous system, improve emotional resilience, strengthen relationships, and replace patterns that no longer serve them.

Whether we are working through trauma, anxiety, addiction, relationship challenges, or life transitions, my goal remains the same: to help clients leave therapy with greater self-understanding, practical skills they can immediately apply, renewed confidence, and the knowledge that lasting change is possible.
