RACHEL SCOTT

LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR

RACHEL SCOTT

PROFESSIONAL BIO

Rachel Scott is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with teenagers, adults, individuals, and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, grief, perfectionism, relationship challenges, chronic stress, and major life transitions. She specializes in working with high-functioning individuals who often appear capable and composed externally while privately struggling with emotional exhaustion, relational trauma, burnout, over-responsibility, people pleasing, and anxiety.

Rachel earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in 1997. She earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida in 2015.

Rachel particularly enjoys working with neurodivergent clients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, empathic individuals, and high achievers who have spent years prioritizing the needs of others while neglecting their own emotional well-being. She recognizes that many coping patterns that once served an important protective role may no longer support the life or relationships clients want to build today. Her work focuses on helping clients process unresolved experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen self-trust, improve interpersonal relationships, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional resilience.

Rachel’s therapeutic style is warm, thoughtful, collaborative, and direct. She believes meaningful change occurs when clients feel emotionally safe, genuinely heard, and respectfully challenged. Her approach balances compassion with accountability, helping clients identify patterns that contribute to emotional distress while developing practical skills in boundaries, assertive communication, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and self-care. She is passionate about helping clients stop carrying responsibility for circumstances, emotions, or outcomes that are not theirs to manage. Rachel’s theoretical orientations are predominantly cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, solution-focused therapy, client-centered therapy, compassion-focused therapy, existential therapy, and narrative therapy. She integrates evidence-based therapeutic approaches to meet each client’s individual needs while creating a supportive environment that encourages insight, growth, and lasting change.

Rachel enjoys helping people navigate a wide range of life transitions, including career changes, parenting stress, relationship difficulties, grief, identity development, burnout, and evolving family dynamics. She is particularly passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves, clarify their values, and build lives that feel more authentic, sustainable, and emotionally healthy. Clients often leave sessions feeling more empowered, reassured, and capable of expressing their needs, taking up space in relationships, and caring for themselves with the same compassion they extend to others.MRachel believes that mental health care is not a reflection of weakness or failure, but an important investment in overall well-being and personal growth. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they process difficult experiences, develop healthier patterns, and create meaningful change in their lives.

When Rachel is not working, she enjoys creativity, nature, meaningful connection, and finding beauty in ordinary moments. She values authenticity, warmth, humor, and the belief that healing and growth remain possible throughout every stage of life.
